The Equinox Adventure Ultra is a unique cross-country endurance challenge held over the weekend of the Spring Equinox (Vårdagjämningen) — when day and night stand in perfect balance.
Teams of two are blindfolded during travel to a secret start location, then released into the wild to find their way back to the finish using only map, compass, and instinct. This is not a marked course. It’s a test of navigation, teamwork, and endurance — over forest, trail, and open ground, on a route of your own making.
The destination remains a secret — somewhere in Sörmland, waiting to be revealed on 1 December. Until then, the best price for the brave is open to those who dare to enter without knowing where they’ll finish.
Choose between The Classic or The Unknown, two adventures that celebrate trust, resilience, and the spirit of exploration.
The Classic
Start time: 12:00, 21 March 2026
A self-supported navigation challenge through forest, trail, and gravel. Each team must locate one compulsory checkpoint before reaching the finish line. With optimal route choice, you can expect to cover around 50 km.
Teams have 12 hours to complete the course, balancing endurance with decision making as daylight shifts to darkness.
An introduction to adventure racing — stripped back, raw, and unforgettable.
The Unknown
Start time: 00:00, 21 March 2026
The Unknown is the ultimate Equinox experience — a true adventure into uncertainty. Teams are blindfolded during travel to an undisclosed location and released into the wild at midnight. From there, they must find their way back through remote forest and open landscape, navigating between two compulsory checkpoints along the way.
The distance is unknown, somewhere between 80 km and 130 km, with a 24-hour time limit to reach the finish.
Equal parts endurance, exploration, and trust — The Unknown is for those who prefer challenge over certainty.
